July 3rd - It's a Tradition

Every July 3rd for a while now we have gone to my parents to celebrate July 4th.  I'm not sure when, how, ,or why we started doing July 3rd but it stuck and that's when we go.  It's just a known thing, that that's where we will be or where you can find us on the third.

This year my mom asked Jason to cook a brisket for dinner that night.  Jason woke up EARLY to start cooking.  The rest of us waited until a normal time and got up!  We did a few things around the house and then headed that way after lunch.  After a few failed attempts for Drew to nap (I am sure he was to excited to see his Gigi and PopPop) we decorated cookies!

Drew then rode on his tractor and we decided to run over and see Auntie and Jayce's new house.  Drew got to play in the sprinkler's there so, I am sure their house is on his fun list now!  After a quick visit we headed back to eat dinner.  After dinner, we went a bought fire works to shoot off later.  We were all hoping Drew was over his fear of fireworks.  We asked for some quiet ones to help.  We got home and started off with his and he was still timid.  The kid loves to talk about them and even watch them at the Ranger's game or on TV but in person it's different.  The one we purchased for him that was suppose to be "quiet" wasn't and then it was all over.  He was done.  I talked him into playing some family baseball and he loved that!  After trying a few more times to get him to watch the fireworks, we went in a took a bath to get ready for bed.  The rest of us watched fireworks and Drew stayed in side.

My mom stayed with Drew while we finished the fireworks and this is how the night ended.  Sweet picture.  He loves his Gigi and PopPop.

~Pool Time~

My parents got Drew a pool for his birthday and with the weather being the way it has been (raining every day) we haven't had a chance to get it out.  Well we got it out today and put little Camden in it.  He was okay until big brother sprayed the water hose in his face.  Once he started feeling the water in his little seat...he was done!  It was fun while it lasted :)

4 Months Old!

Camden turned four months old yesterday and is starting to form a little personality.  He is very laid back and easy going for the most part.  Loves to smile and giggle.  Loves watching his brother play and can just and laugh at him all day.  He went to his first VBS last week.  He has had a few firsts this month including laughing and rolling over!

Drew is three!

Our sweet, sensitive, caring, energetic, fun, loving little boy turned three!  It was also the first day of VBS so we waited to give his gift from us until he got home for church.  We turned the corner to our street and it was sitting outside waiting for him.  He was so excited and couldn't wait to get out of the car to see his new gift.

We had his birthday party and a café in a nearby town that is located at a private airport.  The airplanes land and take off right outside the café.  The kids really enjoyed watching the planes come and go.  I was so worried about how to entertain the kids during the party and they just enjoyed playing outside and watching the planes.  I did have little wooden planes for them to paint and of course yummy food!

Happy Birthday Drew!

3 months

Camden is three months old today and fitting right in.  He is a very laid back baby (for now) and pretty easy going.  In the past month he took his first long trip, had his first cold (not fun), visited church many times, and got to hang out with his Gigi and Auntie while mommy goes to work.  He's sleeping at least a five hour stretch at night if not longer.  He likes to wake up at 4:30 but after eating goes back to sleep.  He's starting to smile a lot more, coo's often, and loves watching his big brother be silly.

Weekend Trip

Friday after Jason got off we headed to go ole Nacogdoches.  My sister was graduating Saturday morning from Stephen F. Austin.  This was Camden's first long trip and hotel stay.  He did fairly well on the car ride down and Drew did great as always.  I had rented Frozen for him to watch and he ended up watching it 3 times by the time we were back home.  He loved it, just like everybody else.

We arrived around 8:00 at night and my parents were already at the hotel.  The met us in the parking lot and took the boys from us and let us get checked in and unpacked.  Drew was shocked to see his Gigi and Pop pop but oh so excited.  The boys hung out with them and Auntie and Jayce for a bit before heading to bed.

The next morning everybody got to sleep in a little (must have been tired from the drive) and when we woke up, we started getting ready for SFA's graduation.  We arrived just in time for it to begin and watch Auntie (my sister) walk to her seat.  Drew did great during the ceremony and Camden slept.  After it was over we got to congratulate my sister and then head out to have lunch with everybody.

After lunch we went to the campus bookstore and walk around campus.  So much has changed but I still remember a lot about it.  Oh to be in college again :)  Drew got to see the fountain in the middle of campus and of course we had to take pictures.  We then walked to other book stores to see what we just had to have!

We had a great time even though it was a quick trip.  I can't wait to go back when the boys are older and take them to a football game and show them around.  I doubt they will really care but I will enjoy it.  We are oh so proud of my sister and can't wait to see what God has in store for her as a teacher.  She will be great doing what she loves!

Congratulations Auntie Adalee!
