Five Months Old

Five months ago TODAY Camden came into this world and made it a better place!  He is such a happy little boy and just loves everything about his little life.  We love him so much and couldn't picture our lives without this little cutie!

What's New:  Rolling over!  I don't remember Drew rolling over this much.  I have a blanket in almost every room to lay down and let him roll around.  He loves it!  He has found his feet and like to pull them closer.  He has also almost mastered sitting up on his own.  He does it but slowly bends forward after a few minutes of leans backwards.

Interests:  He loves his brother and anything he does.  He likes to look at Sutton (our lab).  He is starting to watch us eat which is a sign that he's getting ready for food!  He also puts his hands together and play with them.

Food: Still drinking just milk.  New studies show that you don't have to do rice cereal like we did with Drew. At this point Drew was about to start foods and already had rice cereal but we are planning to wait until six months and just go straight to food.  He drinks 6 oz of milk and is back taking a bottle.  He did have a few weeks where a bottle was not his thing.  Thank goodness that changed!

Sleep:  He's getting there.  He takes a few one to two hour naps during the day and then goes to bed around 7:30.  He wakes for a feeding and then back to sleep.  He wakes one more time for a bottle around 11.  He sometimes wakes up around 2am and currently is WIDE awake and happy as can be.  Just babbles.  He then goes back to sleep and wakes up around 4:30 and then back to bed after eating for another 2.5 to 3.5 hours.  We just need the 2am to drop and the 4:30 to extend just a little.  Mommy and Daddy are tired but I know he just wants some one on one time with us.

Sizes:  He is in a size 3 diaper and wearing 3-6 months clothes.

What I love:  I love his constant smile which is now turning into giggles.  I love how he gives open mouth kisses.  I love how he loves his big brother and how his big brother loves him just as much.  I love how easy going he is for the most part and brings a smile to our faces.  We just love him oh so much.

Lil' Getaway

This week our little family took a little getaway to some cabins in East Texas.  I told Jason for his birthday that I would like for him to pick a place that we could all go and getaway that wasn't to far because of our little one.  After a few days of us both looking online we both (at the same time) came across Deer Lake Cabins in East Texas.  They had the perfect cabin for our family available and offered fishing in two different ponds, paddle boat rides, bike rides, ATV's to rent, playgrounds,  horse rides, trails to hike or take your ATV on, deer to see walking around, and more.  It was perfect for Jason and now Drew is starting to get interested in all these things too.  I planned on just relaxing in the cabin with Camden and getting out when we could.

We arrived Tuesday shortly before check in, but they still let us in our cabin early!  They had fresh warm cookies delivered with a "Thank You" note for visiting.  Just outside our cabin was a playground, horses, and Dream Lake (fishing pond).  It was perfect!  Jason and Drew were either fishing or exploring the trails around the property most of the time.  Drew loved it and kept asking to go, go, go.  Jason decided that if we didn't make him slow down, we aren't sure if he ever would.

There is a sweet couple that runs the place and were very accommodating.  They have four kids around our boys ages.  Our cabin didn't' have a washer and dryer and they offered to wash anything we needed or bring us anything we didn't have and they offered.

We loved it and it was a great getaway!  We hope to go back sometime and relax...again.  It was so nice to get away for a few days and just enjoy God's work.  It's so pretty there.

Happy Independence Day

Every fourth of July Jason's family went to a sweet families house and celebrated July 4th along with a lot of friends and families.  We haven't been since Drew was born and this year we had nothing else planned so we popped in to say HI!  Drew absolutely loved all their food and fun they had going on.

July 3rd - It's a Tradition

Every July 3rd for a while now we have gone to my parents to celebrate July 4th.  I'm not sure when, how, ,or why we started doing July 3rd but it stuck and that's when we go.  It's just a known thing, that that's where we will be or where you can find us on the third.

This year my mom asked Jason to cook a brisket for dinner that night.  Jason woke up EARLY to start cooking.  The rest of us waited until a normal time and got up!  We did a few things around the house and then headed that way after lunch.  After a few failed attempts for Drew to nap (I am sure he was to excited to see his Gigi and PopPop) we decorated cookies!

Drew then rode on his tractor and we decided to run over and see Auntie and Jayce's new house.  Drew got to play in the sprinkler's there so, I am sure their house is on his fun list now!  After a quick visit we headed back to eat dinner.  After dinner, we went a bought fire works to shoot off later.  We were all hoping Drew was over his fear of fireworks.  We asked for some quiet ones to help.  We got home and started off with his and he was still timid.  The kid loves to talk about them and even watch them at the Ranger's game or on TV but in person it's different.  The one we purchased for him that was suppose to be "quiet" wasn't and then it was all over.  He was done.  I talked him into playing some family baseball and he loved that!  After trying a few more times to get him to watch the fireworks, we went in a took a bath to get ready for bed.  The rest of us watched fireworks and Drew stayed in side.

My mom stayed with Drew while we finished the fireworks and this is how the night ended.  Sweet picture.  He loves his Gigi and PopPop.
