Life lately

My great grandmother turned 101, my grandmother turned 77, my cousins little girl turned 2 all on the same day!  We celebrated their birthdays last Saturday.  Drew did great and just babbled away.

Drew with the birthday girls!

Jason and I are back into the swing of things with school starting last week.  I will be working full time for one more week and then start working part time.  We all said goodbye to my sister who has stayed with us all summer and helped watch Drew while I did school trainings and started up school.

Drew met his nanny Thursday and I think he has adjusted fairly well which was something I really worried about.  I think he is going through a growth spurt because he is starting to eat a little more.  He is also sleeping through the night! (knock on wood)  This weekend he has slept 9 to 10 hours both nights.  He has been consistantly going at least 5 hours for three weeks now and it's amazing how much better we all feel when we ALL get to sleep.  He has also been chewing on his hand.  I tried to get a picture the first time I noticed it and he pulled it out, stared at me, then stared crying.  It was like he knew what I was doing.  I sware he knows what a camera is and does because everytime I try to take a picture he turns his head.  I then move to where he is facing and he turns it again.  Little stinker!  I did finally get a few hand chewing shots.

Jason and Adalee both noticed Drew grabbing his head when he eats or sleeps.  He just sits there and grabs it.  Its a little funny but of course cute!  I havent really tried to get a picture but this is one I had.  I think he was getting tired and I was trying to take a pic.

Drew has been smiling and babbling for quite some time but of course getting a picture of it is HARD.  Here are a few that we have. So cute!

Love this one!

Two Months!

Drew is now two months old.  He is growing so fast and so quick.  Jason and I looked back at his one month old pic and I couldn't believe how much he has changed.  I personally think he is such a cutie.  He is smiling all the time and talking (babbling).  I like asking him questions and he makes noises back like he's answering me.  He is currently sleeping anywhere from 5 to 6 hours a night and Sunday night he slept 9.5 hours.  We did tell him he had one more week to learn how to sleep through the night before we go back to school.  He's working on it and doing great.  He is so happy when he wakes up and just talks away.  He might be a morning person but he doesn't get that from me.  He has had an eventful month.  First time to church, got to meet his Great Great Grandmother, met some new friends, went out to eat a few times, stayed with his Gigi and Auntie Adalee two days while I went to training, we helped daddy in his new school, and today he's going to help me at my school.  I can't wait to see what the next month has in store for us.  We have a few changes about to happen.  Jason starts back on Monday with school and football, meaning we won't get to see him that much. :(  I will work full time the next two weeks and then start part time.  Drew will have a nanny come and watch him and love on him while we are away.  My sister is going to watch him until she moves off to college on Aug. 25th.  I thought leaving him for a day would be harder but it helped that my mom did it the first day.  I know it will be a process but I know he's he good hands.
I look horrible but love his face.

First time to Church

Drew got to go to church this morning.  He was wide awake when we arrived and fell asleep when they dimmed the lights and we were singing.  Once they turned on the lights, he opened his eyes but then fell back asleep.  He slept in his carseat until the end and woke back up but I just held him until we left.  He did a lot better then I expected and I hope he can keep it up!  Here's a picture we took on our way to the car.

New Discoveries

Drew has found his tongue. He sticks it out when he's happy or randomly just to do it. I've tried to get some good pictures when he does it but it's hard. He's so fast. Here are a few attempts.

He also can hold his head up with his arms. I came in to get him when he woke up this morning and he was doing it. I thought it was just a fluke. We went to do tummy time today and he kept doing it. I put a little pillow that came with the mat under him to help. He actually enjoyed it. He normally will lay on the pillow and close his eyes. Today he just kept lifting his head. He's growing up so fast.
This is his usual position
He figured out he could lift his feet too.

Stay tuned for Drew's next big discovery!  Who knows what's next?!?!
