Drew's Dedication

Today we dedicated Drew to our church.  We were so blessed to have many of our family members join us.  We tried to plan it where Jason's grandma from San Antonio could be there and thankfully she was in town to join us.  Drew did great and even said a little something while the preacher was talking about him.  Of course he has to get a word in.  We went to lunch afterwards.  It was great to be with a lot of our family at one time.  Drew is a very blessed little boy with so many people who love him.  Here are some pictures from Drew's special day.

Visiting Santa

I have never been more excited for Christmas then I am this year.  I can't wait to do everything with Drew.  Our first stop this year was Bass Pro to get our picture made with Santa.  We went the day after Thanksgiving.  When we got there, Drew was so excited.  He was jumping in Jason's arms.  I guess he wanted to see Santa.  Outside Bass Pro they have a sleigh with reindeer set up and you can sit and take pictures.  Of course, I wanted one with Drew in the sleigh.  I took the pictures so they aren't the best but here are a few.

Mrs. Claus was so cute and Drew was more interested in her glasses.  He tried to take them off once or twice.

Drew with Santa Claus!

Jason and I sat down and made a list of all the things I would like to do with Drew this Christmas season.  Let's hope we can get to all of them!  Stay tuned for more fun adventures!

Thanksgiving Round Two

This year we went to my grandparents house in Ennis to spend Thanksgiving with them.  They are currently building a house so we went to their "cottage".  Drew did great and got to meat some farm animals while he was there.

Happy Thanksgiving

That night when it was time to go to bed, Drew wanted to play.  I went in to check on him and he had rolled over, turned sideways, feet on propped up on the crib, blanket in his mouth, just a talking.  That's Drew, always ready to play.

Thanksgiving Round One

We just got back from our first round of Thanksgivings and Drew's first overnight stay in a hotel.  I have to say he did great!  I was worried about how he would do in the car and I don't know why.  He knew we were headed somewhere fun because I told him all day long and I know he wanted to be good for us.  We didn't get to the lake until 9pm because Jason had a football game and scouted a game that day.  I was worried Drew wouldn't last long because it was his bed time.  Again, I was wrong.  He greeted everybody with smiles and bounced with happiness while all of them rotated holding him.  He kept making everybody so tired with his bouncing that they had to switch.  He also showed them his twisting move.  When you are holding him, he twists so he can see what's going on everywhere else in the room.  They all enjoyed watching his moves.  We left the condo and headed to our hotel room.  After checking in, I got a few pics.

We laid him down to go to bed and he just decided to talk.  It was well past his bed time and he didn't care.  I guess he was telling us about his night.  Jason went to take a shower and I looked over and he had rolled over and was playing with his pacifier.  Crazy boy.

Again, I was worried about how he would sleep overnight in his pack n play.  We had set it up this past week in our house for him to take naps in and get use to it.  Well it worked.  He did great.  He made a few noises so we would get up and check on him but he did great!  The next morning, we woke up and got ready to head back over to the condo for breakfast.  Of course I wanted to grab a few photos.  This is a picture of us off of our balcony with the lake in the background.  It's crazy how much it has changed since the fires they had this summer.  We are very thankful that Jason's families condo wasn't touched.  The fire came inches away from their condo but no damage.

I wanted a picture of Drew in front of the hotel because it was his first place to stay!  He was happy.

We were able to grab a few shots of all the cousins together.
We also got a picture of Great Grandma Jo with all of her great grandchildren.
We had a great time with Jason's family this weekend and can't wait to all be back together at Christmas in San Antonio.  That will be another adventure for Drew and I am again going to be a little nervous about the ride.  We are already planning a stop on the way back home for my sanity and to look at all the beautiful Christmas lights in Marble Falls.  I have always wanted to stop and take pictures but we never have.  This year we are going to and stay over night.  I can't wait!  Thank you Bill and Phoebe for hosting a wonderful Thanksgiving!

5 months!

Happy 5 months!

Drew is five months old (a few days late) and changing.  He is definitely showing his personality more and more each day.  I think he's going to be on of those kids that always says "I can do it mom" when really he needs help.  I think he's going to be very independent.

Interest: - The dogs, Sadie and Sutton.  He loves anything he can get into his mouth.  I will sit him in his bumbo and anything in reach he grabs for and goes straight to his mouth with it.  He loves to bounce.  Even if he's not in his jumperoo or Johnny jump ups, he's bouncing.  We hold him and he just bounces.

Food: - We started him on rice cereal at 4.5 months and waited until 5 months to try bananas.  His first reaction was funny but then he enjoyed them.  He has been eating half a banana ever since.  Next up is sweet potatoes.  We are trying to make the baby food ourselves and so for it hasn't been to bad but of course it's just a banana and you mash it up!  Here are some pictures of the banana experience.
Here he is wanting to hold the spoon.  I can just here him saying "I'll do it"

Finally got the spoon and holds on tightly

Almost done and covered in it
Sleep:  Still doing good.  We did have two weeks where he was up a lot more at night.  He just kept waking up but was easily put back to sleep.  I thought he was teething but it could have been a growth spurt, teeth just moving, or Drew being Drew.

Sizes:  He is now wearing 3-6 months in everything.  I just bought him some pants and they are already getting a little tight.  He's growing...fast.

What I love:  I love his BIG smiles and all of his new silly noises.  He makes a pig noise by sucking in his bottom lip.  He also makes another noise and I don't know what he's doing.  He's a boy and the noises are already happening.  I love his laugh, it makes me laugh.  I love laying down with him and all he does is smile.  I love how he looks at the dogs and lights up like a kid at Christmas.  I love when I pick him up from the sitter's house that he talks (babbles) to me all the way home.  It's like he's telling me about his day.  I love how he opens his mouth and gives me a big slobber kiss.  He is figuring things out and I wish I knew what he was thinking.  I can see the interest in his eyes but just want to know whats going on in his little brain.

He's a joy to be around and I am so ready for the holidays.  I can't wait to be with family and enjoy this time with Drew.

All Smiles :)

Drew is in love with our dogs.  Mainly Sadie.  When he sees her, he lights up with big smiles and even starts talking to her.  Sadie could be sleeping on the couch and if he sees her, he smiles. It's so funny.  The other night, he saw her, and made a loud screech that we have never heard before.  He likes Sutton too, but Sutton isn't around as much and he's BIG.   We finally got some good pictures or tried at least of Drew with the dogs. Sutton likes Drew so, he was easier to get pictures of.  Sadie on the other hand gets annoyed with Drew.  Not sure why, maybe because she isn't the center of attention.

Drew scratches the back of his head and he was doing that to Sutton's head.  Too cute!

Big Smile

I had to add these pictures.  During the world series, Drew looking over at Jason and it looked like he was batting.  So, Jason took some pictures.  Jason said when he was little and the Rangers were batting, he would act like he was batting too.  Drew is continuing the tradition I guess.  I'm thinking a lot of little boys do this.  We were at the game sometime last year and a little boy was doing it at his seat.  That might be Drew one day!  Go Rangers! (in 2012)

Happy Halloween

I originally hadn't planned on getting Drew a costume because Jason had a football game on Halloween and we were going to just go to that.  I had purchased him a shirt that said "My First Halloween" for him to wear.  I decided last minute to have some friends over and have the kids dress up.  So, I went out Saturday looking for a costume for Drew.  I came across one for $.86.  Couldn't beat that, so Drew was a Monkey.  We were able to get some good pictures of him.

Jason was holding up Sadie (our yorkie) like a toy to get Drew to smile.  I so happen to be holding Drew and couldn't stop laughing.
This is a picture of Drew and Caleb.  For some reason Drew wasn't happy during this photo and Caleb really wanted to sit in the bumbo!  His mom did finally get a smile out of him once he did manage to sit in the bumbo.  Too cute!  After this picture, I took Drew's costume off and he was back to his happy self.

Happy Halloween!

*Since I didn't plan so well this year with the costume, I already have an idea for next year and it's going to be so cute.  If it all works out and I can find it again online!
