Christmas Day

Jason and I usually stay the night with my parents on Christmas Eve and wake up at their house on Christmas Day. My dad fixes breakfast and then we open presents. We have always said that when we have a kid that we wanted Christmas morning at our house. So, this year we started a new tradition. After seeing what Santa brought, Jason fixed breakfast. After breakfast we opened our presents.

Jason had painted Drew's hand and put it on the present that he gave me.  Too sweet!  Of course I saved it!  Drew gave me a wallet to carry all my stuff in his diaper bag.

Drew preferred the candy that was in Jason's stocking.  No, he didn't eat it but loved the sound the bag makes.

After Drew had his morning nap, we packed up everything we needed and headed to Forney to spend the rest of the day with my parents and grandmother.  My dad has fixed lunch (his famous breakfast).  We ate soon after we got there but of course everybody had to play and talk to Drew first.  That kid is spoiled.  We then opened presents again.

I think Drew was worn out from all the excitement.  He wanted to just lay around at times.  Never acted tired, just mellow.  He was into everybody opening their presents and watching.  He loved the tissue paper which I had to quickly take away from him each time.
He enjoyed all the outfits he got.  Every one of them went straight to his mouth.  I guess that's better then just throwing them to the side.  He got some cute things.  This one of of our favorites.
Auntie Adalee was pretty excited about her presents too.  At one point she asked me to find one with her name on it because she didn't see anymore!
Gigi got a Grandmother Willow Tree angel, which she collects, from Drew.
Drew got a toy that he can sit and play with now and then when he starts walking can walk with it.  He loves all the sounds it makes.  It actually has decent songs that it plays.  We are kind of getting tired of all the current toys songs he has.
Jason and I gave my grandmother a Sports Illustrated Magazine of the Mavericks after they won.  After she opened this, we lost her.  She was engrossed in it the rest of the time.  I joked that she left to go home and finish reading her magazine.  She was so excited.  She even wanted to bring it the next day to another family gathering and brag that she got it.  One of my aunts families are HUGE Maverick fans as well.  Drew got to open the last gift and the biggest.  Remember earlier when I said this kid is spoiled.  He helped unwrap it a little.

He was looking over at my grandmother, laughing.  He was just happy.  He had no clue what he just got.  Jason quickly put it together and we strapped him and took him for a ride.  He can't wait for friends to come over and go for a walk.  This wagon even has a two drink holders.  Who would have thought.
My dad took him down to see their labs in the fence.  The labs were going crazy and Drew just sat there watching them.  He was so cute with both hands on each side holding on.  I am thinking he is going to need a wagon at their house too!  I'm sure that will be next.

After dinner and Drew taking a long nap, we put together Drew's toy from Auntie Adalee.  He loved it.  He played with it for a little bit and then got ready for bed.  Drew was great all day long.  I always worry how he's going to be getting off his schedule.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Santa Came!

Christmas Eve, Drew sat out cookies and milk in hopes that he was good enough his last six months for Santa to come.  We didn't make anything homemade.  I wasn't going to stress this year since Drew really has no idea what's going on.  Plus, I heard that Santa loves Oreos and we had some to share.

The next morning when Drew woke up, we went in the living room and Santa came!  He filled Drew's stocking and everything.

Jason did finish the morning up by saying that Santa usually visits every kid the first year but after that they have to be good enough for him to come.  I'm not sure Drew understood but I'm sure we will have to remind of this in a few years!

Christmas Eve

CATE FAMILY CHRISTMAS

This year we were up to host Christmas Eve at our house. Jason's brother and sister's families came over and we had a late lunch, opened presents, looked in our stockings, and of course watched some football.  Our niece, Morgan, was fired up to open presents like any kid would be.  She kept asking if it was time to open presents.  We kept telling our nephew, Jack that we all needed hugs for him to get open presents.  It was kind of cute seeing him hug us.  He started the day off angry because he didn't like Sadie, the yorkie around.  Sadie was put up and Jack became happier.  When it was finally time to open presents, Morgan went so fast handing them out, I didn't get to see everybody open everything.  I had to ask Jason if everybody got all of our gifts.  It was fun, just FAST.  I was also watching Drew some of the time.
Drew preferred the tissue paper which I had to take away from him fast.  We put him in one of the bags and he tried to bite it.  Every gift he got a hold of he put straight to his mouth.  I was happy that he lasted the whole time and was in a good mood.  He went down for a nap but I went and got him for his stocking because all he was doing was playing around in his crib.

Drew loved his cousin Dani and Kyle.  He kept smiling and looking at them all day.  I'm glad he is such a happy boy!

The two younger kids, Morgan and Jack, enjoyed Drew's present more then he was able to.  The kept bringing it to every room they played in.  I asked them if they wanted me to get them on next year and they quickly said NO.  I'm not sure that was an honest answer with as much time they spent playing with it.  Needless to say when they left, we let Drew play with it and he likes it.
After finding Kyle, who was hiding for a cousin picture, we were able to get everybody together.  Drew was actually smiling during most of the pictures but his hand was in his mouth.  Oh well, one day we will get a picture of him with out something in his mouth.

GAYLORD TEXAN

We have been wanting to go check out the Gaylord.  We haven't been in a few years and it's just down the street.  I love all the Christmas decorations they have out.  I thought with it being Christmas Eve that it wouldn't be as crazy.  Let me just say, it was worse then I ever thought.  We had to practically stand in like to take any picture we wanted any where in the place.  I felt bad for people actually staying there.  First stop was one of the many Christmas trees in the lobby.  Drew loves trees.
He looked at it for a while.  I am surprised it didn't try to pull it.  They had all the reindeer spread out and dressed up.  We saw Dasher (I think that was the one) and he was all sporty.  I had to get a picture.
We tried to get a picture of Drew and I by a huge rocking horse but so much was going on around us that Drew wouldn't look at Jason.  He was even shouting his name and nothing.  Drew was more interested in the many lights, people, and noises around.

We were able to stop and look at the trains go by.  Drew found the train.  The above picture is him watching it.  I wanted a picture of Drew and I with the tree in the back ground.  There was a fountain and that was what caught Drew's attention.  I kept turning for him to look at Jason but he would snap his head the opposite direction and face the fountain.  So this is a perfect picture of our many of Drew and I trying to get a good picture.

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVE!
