Today was Drew's first experience in his new pool. I think it's more of a spray pad to me but he slowly started enjoying it. I think it would have been better if the water was warmer.

Roughin' It
This past weekend Jason, Drew, and I met my parents at Jason's new deer lease. This was a weekend for my dad to just get away from work and relax. Jason and I got there Friday night and my parents came Saturday around lunch. To me this is "Roughin' It". The cabin is 14x12 with four bunk beds (the two at the top are questionable) and couch, refrigerator, oven and cooktop, sink, and about 12x18in. of counter space. The bathroom is outside in another building but thank goodness there is one with a sink and shower. Jason's last deer lease had none of the above and I felt like I was on "Little House and the Prarie". I use to heat up water in a coffee pot, but the warm water in a bowl, and go sit on a the porch and wash my face. Oh so glad those days are over with. Anyways, here are a few pictures for our weekend.
This is how we bathed Drew. Jason is upset we took pictures of him in this (mainly because of the buckets color). Drew had a blast and had no idea the color of his bucket.

10 months!
Drew is 10 months old and busier then ever. He is getting more curious about things daily. Two out of the four weeks he was sick with a cough and cold which limited our fun and getting out. I glad he is finally getting better. I think a lot has to do with his allergies. He is still a happy even when he is sick.
What's New: He is attempting to stand on his own. He will let go of something for a second and then fall towards me. He does give a "high 5" more often now and still babbling away. He has mastered holding his bottle (finally) and gets excited when it's time to eat. He sits in his little chair in the living room and drinks his bottle on his own.
He kept wanting to mess with the 10 month sticker! |
Interests: He loves looking at windows. Every window in our house has the blinds raised during the day so he can stand up and see out. He loves to bang on the windows and babble. He enjoys seeing our lab out the back down. One day I went outside, while Jason stayed with him inside, and looked at him through the window. He really enjoyed that. He also enjoys playing hide and go seek. I sit him down in the room and then I go and hide behind a chair in our living room and he crawls to find me. We do this over and over a few times and he just giggles the whole time. We also do it around our pool table and that's even more fun to him. He has always liked playing in the water and still does. I try to make indoor water toys for him to play with. Last week I filled up a big bucket with water and gave him a few kitchen utensils to play with. He laughed and played for awhile.
Food: He is loving spaghetti and chicken noodle soup. He sure does make a mess with spaghetti but he's just like his momma and loves pasta! I think his current favorites are peas, rice, sweet potatoes, green beans, and zucchini. He loves mum mums and rice cakes for snack. He has also started drinking formula to supplement and didn't have much of a problem starting that.
Sleep: Always good! He currently takes two naps a day for 1 to 3 hours long and then sleeps from 8 to 7:30. His last bottle is at 7:30 and then we put him to bed. He has been going to sleep on his own. He does play a little bit in his bed but then eventually falls asleep.
Sizes: He has moved up to 6-9 month clothes and some 12 months. He is still in size 3 diapers.
What I love: I love how he kisses me on the cheek and all over! I love how he gives such good hugs. I love how he is so happy and generally in a good mood. I love how he's adventurous and keeps things interesting. I love how he's my little boy and I get to show him the world and help him explore daily.

Easter
I would like to say we had a wonderful Easter but it didn't go quite as planned. But, who can really plan getting sick. Jason had been sick the week before Easter and Drew started getting a cold the Friday before. Saturday night he started coughing and couldn't go to sleep. Finally around 12am he fell asleep and woke up at 8:30am. I woke up with a sore throat. We decided not to go to church because Drew could possibly get all the babies sick and I didn't want to be the mom that caused every body's little ones to not feel well. Plus he's still in there with the newborns and that really wouldn't be good. So, we watched a little bit of church on TV. It felt really weird not going to church, especially on Easter. We finally got around to the Easter bunny and showed Drew what the Easter bunny left for him. He was so excited to see tons of bright colorful things (wasn't sure what all of it was).
Here are a few pre Easter pictures when he was actually feeling himself.
We then got ready to head to my parents for a little bit. After eating lunch, Drew took and nap and woke up miserable. Meanwhile I was coming down with body aches and took a nap myself. After he woke up, we left all feeling worse then when we showed up. We had even boiled eggs for Drew to find and left them there. Drew didn't even get to find eggs. We all felt awful and it just wasn't the best of Easters for any of us.
Here are a few pre Easter pictures when he was actually feeling himself.
The bunny had to go in a flower pot because Drew kept trying to pick it up. They didn't want him to even touch it but he just couldn't help himself!
We were worried what Drew would do meeting this bunny but he did great and was happy as could be. Flapping is arms with joy!
We hope everybody else had a great Easter. Hopefully next year we will all be feeling a lot better!

Bluebonnets!
Yesterday we headed out to Ennis to visit with my grandparents and to take some Bluebonnets pictures. I have always heard how great they are out there but I had no idea. They even have a trail called "Blue Bonnott Trail" that you can drive along and see fields and fields of them. So many people were out there. I even ran across an old cheer teammate from SFA taking pictures of her little ones. Now that's a small world! While eating lunch with my grandparents, I was telling my Mimi that I couldn't wait to go home and edit them. After talking for awhile she let me take home her photoshop program and I ended up staying up until 1am playing with it. I still have a lot to learn but here are a few pictures we took and I edited!
